UNITED CARGO OPENS WAREHOUSE AT MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
United Cargo, a division of United Airlines, Wednesday opened a $34-million cargo facility at Miami International Airport.
The 90,000-square-foot warehouse is located on 8.2 acres in the airport's southwest sector. The warehouse offers 7,000 square feet of cold storage to handle perishables, such as flowers, fruit and vegetables.
The facility can be expanded by an additional 31,000 square feet.
United Cargo moved about 95 million pounds of cargo through Miami International in 2000, and projects volume to increase to nearly 125 million pounds in 2001.
