UP closes Salt Lake City intermodal gate as containers pile up
Union Pacific Railroad Wednesday was forced to close the inbound gate at its Salt Lake City facility to all intermodal traffic due to a backlog of containers and trailers awaiting collection.
UP said that permits may be granted upon space availability by telephoning (800) 269-3026.
The railroad urged customers to pick up their containers and trailers as soon as possible to shorten the gate closure.
