UPS adds pharmaceutical warehouse
UPS said it has opened its 25th, and largest, distribution center dedicated to the health care industry.
The 500,000-square-foot facility is located in Louisville, Ky., near the company’s Worldport global air hub. The facility has validated temperature-controlled sections designed to handle sensitive pharmaceutical products. Other sections can handle medical devices and equipment.
The distribution centers proximity to the UPS air hub enabled air shipments to be received as late as 11 p.m. for delivery the next day.
