The global shipper said customer growth motivated the expansion of three facilities in Germany and the Netherlands.
UPS announced it has enlarged three of the company’s international facilities in Europe.
Driven by increased growing demand from retail and high-tech customers, the expansions added a combined 220,000 square feet to UPS’s supply chain facilities in Krefeld and Butzbach, Germany and Venlo, Netherlands.
The company added 53,000 square feet to its facility in Krefeld and 75,000 square feet to its facility in Butzbach (near Frankfurt). All three facilities offer post-sales services and distribution for high-tech and retail customers.
The announcement comes after the company’s recent 1.2 million-square-foot expansion of four North American locations.
“We continue to expand our contract logistics reach and capabilities in Europe to serve the growing demands of our B2B and B2C customers,” said Harld Peters, vice president of UPS Contract Logistics Europe. “These facility investments are testaments to our continued commitment to supply our customers in Europe with solutions that allow their businesses to be more competitive.”
UPS now has 596 supply chain facilities, totaling more than 33 million square feet.
