UPS Freight opens new service center

The parcel giant opened its fifth facility in the Chicago, Ill. area.

UPS Freight has opened a 28,000-square-foot service center in Franklin Park, Ill.
The new center, which sits on a five-acre lot, compliments other nearby service centers in Chicago, Aurora, Palatine and South Holland.
The Franklin Park location features 66 docks for loading and unloading less-than-truckload freight. In addition, the center processes freight shipments from around the country and provides pickup and delivery services for Chicago area customers.
“Business growth in the greater Chicago area has driven demand for UPS Freight’s capabilities,” UPS Freight Central Region President Kevin Hartman said. “This new building addresses immediate needs and positions us for the continued expansion of our customers’ businesses.”
