UPS LAUNCHES E-COMMERCE UNIT
United Parcel Service has formed a business subsidiary called UPS e-Ventures to develop services and businesses for serving the supply chain management needs of e-commerce companies.
The subsidiary’s first effort is to develop a UPS e-Logistics unit that will provide end-to-end logistics support for e-commerce start-ups. UPS e-Logistics will target its services at small- and medium-sized companies looking for services ranging from warehousing and order fulfillment to customer service.
Mark Rhoney, a 25-year UPS veteran, will serve as president of UPS e-Ventures. He was vice president of electronic commerce marketing.
