UPS RAISES RATES
United Parcel Service will increase rates effective February 5.
UPS commercial ground services will go up 3.1 percent across all weights and zones. Air express rates for UPS Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, and 3-Day Select will increase 3.7 percent.
UPS’s residential surcharge will go from $1 per package to $1.05. The carrier’s temporary fuel charge of 1.25 percent, begun in August, will remain in effect.
The UPS rate increases come after FedEx Corp. announced it will increase in February FedEx Express rates by 4.9 percent for shipments within the U.S. and 2.9 percent for export shipments.
