UPS will open two package-distribution warehouses in the Dallas area by November, adding more than 700,000 square feet of handling space to the region.
Officials await the opening of the 495,000-square-foot Independence building in Fort Worth, Texas, which will serve customers living in the counties of North Tarrant and South Denton. More than 300 handlers will work at the facility.
Around 120 full-time workers and 200 part-time employees will run the 215,000-square-foot facility UPS officials have opened in McKinney, Texas.
“UPS continues to see growth in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex,” said UPS’ Craig Wiltz said in a statement. “These two new buildings increase our ability to address the rapid expansion of residential and commercial demand and significantly increase our employee base in the area.”
