USCO LOGISTICS INTEGRATES WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT UNITS
USCO Logistics, part of Kuehne & Nagel International AG, said Monday it has integrated its two warehouse management businesses as a strategy for future growth.
The Hamden, Conn.-based company has combined its Shared, or multi-customer, and Dedicated Logistics units into a Warehousing Solutions unit, 'to allow us to more rapidly develop and install the right warehouse-based solution for any customer,' said Robert R. Auray Jr., USCO Logistics' president and chief executive officer.
The units 'have developed exceptional value-added capabilities that now are more easily shared across our more than 70 North American distribution facilities,' Auray said.
As part of the move, James W. Morgan has been named executive vice president and general manager of Warehousing Solutions, and Harry Drajpuch has been named executive vice president and general manager of Transportation Solutions, a new position.
Morgan, formerly executive vice president and general manager of Dedicated Logistics, has 20 years of industry experience, the last 15 with USCO Logistics.
Drajpuch was executive vice president and general manager of Shared Logistics. He joined USCO Logistics in 1989 after serving in a variety of sales, account management and operations functions with Smith's Transfer and Con-Way Eastern Express.
USCO Logistics said it is also looking to continue to grow its transportation solutions offering.
