Non-vessel-operating common carrier Vanguard Logistics Services has acquired South African firm ILA, adding offices in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town to its network.
The NVOs had worked together for the past six years.
Vanguard said the ILA acquisition will provide a “platform for further expansion and partnerships within the African sub-continent, a region expected to be a growth engine for the global economy in the near future.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We will continue to expand our network, offices, agents and solutions to serve our customers logistics needs and bring seamless access to LCL shipping globally,” said Charlie Brennan, Vanguard’s chairman and chief executive officer, in a statement.
