Web host ViaWest is providing Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to logistics software provider Cadre Technologies, so Cadre can help its customers outsource hosting and IT services.
IaaS is the category of cloud computing that refers to Web-based access for storage and computing power on the cloud, typically giving the user options to increase server capacity and applications as demand grows. The IaaS service from ViaWest will include functions and options like a private cloud, scalable storage, redundant bandwidth, and system support.
ViaWest will establish a standardized hosting configuration for Cadre’s Cadence Fulfillment System and Accuplus warehouse management service. The company will also host Cadre’s warehouse management and logistics visibility systems.
This partnership is somewhat different from the norm as ViaWest will not only provide hosting for the software but will build custom configurations for each of Cadre’s customers based on the customer’s requirements.
This move comes two months after ViaWest acquired a Las Vegas data center from CoreLink. – Geoff Whiting
