Weber Distribution names Wilkinson IT VP
Santa Fe Springs-based Weber Distribution has appointed former BAX Global and UTi Worldwide executive Tom Wilkinson as its new vice president of information technology.
Wilkinson, a 24-year IT industry veteran, joined Weber April 21 with responsibility for the firm's IT infrastructure and systems. These include Weber's branded LINKS warehouse management system, TransLINKS transportation management system, and Lawson Financials package.
He served for nearly eight years with UTi, first as IT director before being promoted to vice president of global IT in 2003. He previously served for more than a decade with BAX Global in various technical and IT management positions.
Weber operates 20 distribution facilities with more than 4.5 million square feet of space, including more than 1 million square feet of temperature-controlled warehouses, throughout the Western United States. It also provides nationwide coverage with an in-house trucking fleet.
