Weber leases new Redlands DC

Los Angeles-based logistics firm Weber Distribution has signed a 10-year lease for 564,000 square feet of a new 1.3 million-square-foot facility in Redlands, Calif.

Weber will use the facility, part of the AMB Redlands Distribution Center, to provide transportation and distribution services to its food and retail customers including Cadbury Schweppes and Nestl' Waters.

The facility is planned as a major Inland Empire hub for Weber, joining the firm's portfolio of facilities in the area including two warehouses in Fontana, two in Redlands and two in Rancho Cucamonga.

Weber said in a release that it projects the new Redlands facility to create 200 jobs.

At the facility, Weber provides food and retail customers, including Cadbury Schweppes and Nestl' Waters, with storage as well as transportation and distribution services. The 1.3 million-square-foot AMB Redlands Distribution Center is designed with waste conservation, lighting and water systems.

According to Bill Butler, Weber's president and chief executive officer, the value proposition for Weber's customers is better in Redlands compared to warehousing options located closer to Los Angeles.

'Our customers are continuing to expand their demand for space throughout Southern California and this location is the most cost effective for their needs,' he said.

Weber operates a total of 20 facilities in the western United States representing 4.5 million square feet of warehousing space.
