WFS buys Swissport’s Copenhagen Airport cargo operations

Worldwide Flight Services said it will acquire Swissport’s cargo business at Copenhagen Airport.
As part of the deal, Swissport will transfer all business activities, including assets, to WFS on Oct. 1. WFS will take over Swissport’s 4,200-square-meter cargo terminal at Copenhagen Airport, which handles about 18,000 tons a year for numerous airlines.
Financial terms of the deal were not released.
Union representatives at the airport were notified prior to the decision to transfer the business to WFS, Swissport said in a statement.
With Swissport’s operation acquired, WFS’ total cargo volume at Copenhagen Airport grows to 100,000 tons a year. Its existing facilities at the airport include two cargo terminals with a total area of nearly 10,000 square meters. Airlines that WFS handles at the airport include Singapore Airlines, China Cargo Airlines, Korean Air, British Airways, TAP Portugal, Iberia, Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Air Greenland, Cargolux and Icelandair.
