White Paper: The State of Sustainability in Transportation

Incorporating sustainability into supply chains for shippers is critical. As discussions evolve around increasing ESG reporting and transparency for all corporations, companies of all sizes are turning to their supply chain leaders to reduce waste and carbon emissions. Convoy and FreightWaves surveyed nearly 200 U.S. shippers across various industries, ranging from $150 million or less in revenue to shippers with more than $1 billion in revenue. 

Survey highlights include:

  • More than 67% of respondents believe sustainability is important or very important to their core business
  • More than 84% of respondents said their department was incentivized to reduce carbon emissions 
  • More than 69% of respondents said there is a dollar value on a per-mile basis associated with reducing empty miles in their supply chain
