WiseTech Global acquires third company this month

Stockholm-headquartered CargoIT added to growing worldwide portfolio.

WiseTech Global on Wednesday announced the acquisition of CargoIT i Skandinavien, a customs management and logistics solutions provider in Sweden.
This is WiseTech’s third announced acquisition in October. The global logistics solutions group earlier in the month reported that it had acquired DataFreight and SmartFreight. WiseTech has made more than two dozen acquisitions since January 2017.
Headquartered in Stockholm, CargoIT offers customs management solutions along with freight forwarding, warehousing and transport solutions to more than 150 customers, including DHL, Kerry Logistics, SAS Cargo, Clas Ohlson, Mondelez International, Mitsubishi Motors and Hyundai.
Richard White, WiseTech Global founder and CEO, said the acquisition of CargoIT gives the company “a strong foothold in a very active trade region. CargoIT’s considerable Swedish customs management experience further enhances our provision of integrated cross-border logistics solutions to customers worldwide, alongside the significant productivity benefits we can deliver to the local market through our integrated CargoWise One global platform.”
CargoIT co-founders Bjorn and Christina Wiklund will remain with the business.
Other WiseTech acquisitions have taken place in Argentina, Australasia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, North America, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, the U.K. and Uruguay.
