The global freight forwarder opened a 155,000-square-foot third-party logistics center in Chelmsford, Essex to serve clients in the United Kingdom and overseas.
Global freight forwarder Woodland Group announced it opened a 155,000-square-foot third-party logistics center at its headquarters and main depot in Chelmsford, Essex to serve clients in the United Kingdom and overseas.
Chelmsford is situated in Southeast United Kingdom approximately 30 miles northeast of London.
The site offers a variety of services, including pick and pack, insertions, hand bagging, storage, re-packing, export packing, jacketing and re-jacketing, palletization, shrink wrapping, magazine packing, product re-work and bar coding, Woodland Group said.
Cargo handled at the new center can be dispatched by pallet throughout the company’s national and international network or through third-party courier companies.
“We invested a seven-figure amount into the new fulfillment center in response to customer demand for 3PL services,” Woodland Group Fulfillment Manager Luke Fermor said in a statement. “We took what was a small, clean yet basic transit shed and spent nine months developing it into a state-of-the-art facility.”
