Worker killed at port in salt pile collapse
A truck driver was killed Thursday afternoon at Port Newark when a pile of rock salt collapsed.
The pile overturned his vehicle and trapped the 51-year-old man between his truck and another waiting to be loaded.
Officials at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said high winds may have caused the collapse.
Press reports say there was a similar salt pile collapse in December, but that no one was injured at that time.
