WORLDPOINT LOGISTICS BUYS RISS INTERMODAL

WorldPoint Logistics, based in Bellevue, Wash., announced on Monday that
it had purchased RISS Intermodal Corp., in Orinda, Calif., for an undisclosed sum.
RISS is the largest independent intermodal marketing company in the
United States, with annual revenues of $140 million and 90 employees in Orinda, Chicago,

The integrated venture is expected to generate $250 million in revenues.

RISS/USSI. Thomas R. Brown, president and chief operating officer of RISS, will serve as
president of the integrated company.
Besides RISS/USSI, WorldPoint’s other acquisitions comprise Expedited, a
time-definite transportation company based in Dallas; Alpha International, a customs
broker and freight forwarder in Valley Stream, N.Y., and President Container Lines Ltd.,
an ocean freight forwarder in Elizabeth, N.J.
