Xian plans inland port

The Chinese city of Xian, which is in the Shaanxi province, plans to build an inland port that will focus on international logistics, according to a report by China’s state news service, Xinhua. The port will “link the overland international freight route of silk road economic belt,” reports Xinhua.
The port will “develop itself into a strategic pivot offering services between China’s east coastal and western regions” by working with several eastern coastal ports and providing “sea-rail intermodal and seamless joint services for more hinterland enterprises by taking advantages of Xian International Port District’s Xian Railway Container Central Station, Xian Comprehensive Free Trade Zone and Xian Road Port.”
