The world’s second-largest contract logistics provider added about 5,000 jobs to its supply chain network during the first quarter.
XPO Logistics added about 5,000 jobs to its North American supply chain network during the first quarter of the year, a company spokesperson said Tuesday.
These jobs included material handlers and outbound shipping clerks as well as positions in sales and solutions, operations, proposal writing and project management.
“These jobs have been filled, but we’re continuing to recruit for more open positions,” the spokesperson said.
The news comes after XPO in February reported a net income attributable to common shareholders of $312.4 million for the full year of 2017, a drastic increase from the $63.1 million the prior year.
Overall, XPO Logistics has more than 95,000 employees across the globe. The company is the world’s second-largest contract logistics provider based on approximately 170 million square feet of facility space, with more than $85 billion of goods under management.
