Yang Ming commences CG2

COSCO, Wan Hai and PIL will all take slots on the new loop connecting South Korea, China, Taiwan and Singapore with the United Arab Emirates.

   Ocean carrier Yang Ming, along with slot purchasers COSCO Container Lines, Wan Hai Lines and Pacific International Lines, has introduced a new direct weekly service between Asia and the Middle East, according to the liner carrier schedule database BlueWater Reporting.
   The CG2 loop commenced with the April 5 sailing of the YM Cypress from Busan. Yang Ming operates the service with six vessels with an average capacity of 5,514 TEUs and a total rotation time of 42 days round.
   The port rotation of the CG2 is Busan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Shekou, Singapore, Dubai (Jebel Ali), Penang, Singapore, Kaohsiung and back to Busan.
   Yang Ming currently operates or purchases slots on a total of nine direct weekly services connecting Asia with the Middle East and Indian subcontinent. Together, Yang Ming, COSCO, Wan Hai and PIL participate in 27 services between the two regions, with access to 151 vessels and a combined available weekly capacity of 108,347 TEUs.
