YANGMING TO BUY NINE NEW SHIPS
Yangming Marine Transport announced it will sell between $150 million and
$180 million in convertible bonds by year-end to help finance the purchase of nine new
ships.
Yangming’s board of directors approved plans to buy seven 1,500 TEU
ships and two 5,500 TEU vessels.
The vessel purchase is Yangming’s largest ever and comes on top of a
previous order of five 5,500 TEU ships for delivery beginning next year.
