The Taiwan subsidiary of Yusen Logistics has been certified by China Customs as an authorized economic operator (AEO) since the start of December, the company said Wednesday.
Yusen was granted AEO status for freight forwarding, customs brokerage and warehouse operation. The certification allows Yusen exemptions from some customs procedures, as it’s recognized officially as a logistics service provider that complies with laws and regulations and manages cargo appropriately.
Taiwan is also promoting AEO mutual recognition arrangements with Singapore. Yusen’s Taiwan office applied for inspection by Singapore Customs simultaneously with its AEO application in Taiwan and received a positive evaluation, confirming that it satisfied the requirements for an AEO under the AEO system in Singapore, the company said.
Yusen is the global logistics subsidiary of the NYK Group.
