Yusen Logistics expands at O’Hare

Third party logistics provider Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc. will open a new logistics center in June 2013.
The facility in Chicago is positioned near O’Hare International Airport, and will support the company’s expansion in the region.
The 230,000 square-foot building will include 28,000 square-feet of office space, 30 exterior dock doors, two interior docks, and a drive-in door.
The company said the new facility’s layout will expedite the customs clearance and processing of airline ULDs (unit load devices) as well as ocean containers. In addition, this multi-tenant warehouse will service the storage and distribution requirements of clients from various industries.
“The new facility in Chicago will support these goals while providing a strategically located storage and distribution solution for shippers,” said Scott Corless, senior vice president and general manager for the 3PL’s international division. “The project is part of our long-term investment plan, and demonstrates our commitment to growth in this market.”
