Yusen Logistics expands in Germany

The third-party logistics division of Japanese shipping company NYK has acquired a larger warehouse at the inland port in Duisberg, Germany.

Yusen Logistics is moving to a bigger warehouse facility in Duisberg, Germany, that has 667,362 square feet of storage capacity, 93,656 square feet more than the current site, the company said in a statement.
The new, high-tech facility is located in the largest inland port in Europe, with excellent access to major road networks. It is close to a river container terminal with connections to the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.
The company said the move was precipitated by strong growth in the region for business-to-business logistics services, as well as e-commerce deliveries to consumers.
Yusen is also expanding its returns logistics capability and has invested in a fully-automated sorting machine for parcels.
