Yusen Terminals names new managers
NYK Lines subsidiary Yusen Terminals Inc. (YTI) has named five new managers on the operations team of the firm's Port of Los Angeles container terminal, effective April 1.
Mike Patalano has been named vice president and general manager of YTI and will oversee YTI's day-to-day operating and administrative functions. He will continue to report to Daniel Hall, senior vice president of West Coast operations.
Tracy Burdine has been named vice president of operations for YTI. He will be responsible for all operational activity at YTI and will report to Patalano.
Linda Frame, a veteran YTI veteran employee, has been named director of environmental and quality affairs. She will work with the community and environmental groups to ensure that YTI adheres to all environmental rules and regulations. She will also report to Patalano.
In addition, Phil Lawrence has been named as project manager, operations, and Mari Ann Skunca as manager of terminal services.
On the NYK side, Paul Shintani, executive vice president of YTI, has been named general manager, compliance and risk management group of NYK. He will be responsible for the creation of legal and business compliance programs and mitigate various risk for the Global NYK Group Cos. and all its foreign subsidiary companies. Shintani will be based out of the NYK Corporate headquarters in Tokyo.
Yusen Terminals Inc. operates marine cargo terminals in the ports of Los Angeles and Oakland. YTI provides stevedore and terminal service for the New Grand Alliance that comprises NYK Line, Hapag-Lloyd and OOCL. It is a sister company of Ceres Terminals Inc.
