Yusen uses solar power at NJ warehouse

Yusen Logistics has installed its largest solar power generation system at its warehouse facility in Port Murray, N.J.
The solar system is comprised of 6,246 panels covering a 14,700-square-foot plot next to the warehouse. The 500-kilowatt system is expected to generate about 650,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year, and will help power the warehouse. Surplus electricity will be sold to local power companies. The overall reduction in carbon emissions is expected to exceed 200 tons on an annual basis.
The opening ceremony for the solar system was held as part of a facility tour attended by Yusen’s president, Hiromitsu Kuramoto, and Americas president, Kazuo Ishizuka, as well as executives from partnering companies.
