ZIM details Latin America, Caribbean services

   ZIM says it is planning changes that will extend coverage and improve service between ports in the U.S. Gulf and East Coast with South America, the Caribbean and Central America.
   As of mid-June, the company said, it will offer the following fixed-day services in cooperation with MSC:

  • North-South Express Service (XNS). Eight 7,000-TEU ships will be deployed on the following new rotation: Norfolk – New York – Baltimore – Savannah – Freeport – Caucedo – Santos – Buenos Aires – Montevideo – Rio Grande – Navagantes – Santos – Salvador – Suape – Freeport – Norfolk.
  • New Gulf Brazil Service (GBS). Nine 2,800-TEU ships will be deployed on the following rotation: Cristobal – Kingston – Veracruz – Altamira – Houston – Kingston – Cristobal – Port of Spain – Santos – Navagantes – Paranagua – Rio de Janeiro – Vila De Conde – Cristobal.
  • Caribbean Gulf Express (CGX). Three 2,800-TEU ships will be deployed on the following rotation: Caucedo – Kingston – Tampa – Mobile – New Orleans – Houston – Caucedo.
