ZIM TO END SLOT-CHARTER WITH HYUNDAI
Zim Israel Navigation will end its transpacific slot-charter agreement
with Korea’s Hyundai Merchant Marine in May, and will operate without
partners in the transpacific.
Zim has been buying slots from Hyundai on two of the New World
Alliance’s transpacific services — the PSW and PNW loops. The Israeli
carrier will end its slot-charter agreements with the launch of its second
transpacific service. That service, which begins May 7, will cover many
ports previously served through the slot charter.
