LanChile Cargo picks GF-X for electronic bookings

   LanChile Cargo said Tuesday it has joined Global Freight Exchange (GF-X), a reservations portal for the air freight industry.

   Roberto Bianchi, LanChile’s senior vice president, marketing and sales, North America and Asia, said the airline and GF-X would commence their operations in Miami early in 2004.

   GF-X, which has been operational since 2000, hosts an online trading community for airfreight markets, providing Web-based cargo tracking, electronic booking and customs integration.

   GF-X clients include ABX, Air France Cargo, American Airlines Cargo, Bax Global, bmi cargo, British Airways World Cargo, Capitol International, Cargolux Airlines, Continental Airlines Cargo, Delta Air Logistics, DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, DHL Aviation NV, EGL Eagle Global Logistics, Emirates SkyCargo, Exel, Iberia Cargo, KLM Cargo, Kuehne & Nagel, Lufthansa Cargo, Panalpina, Royal Air Maroc, Schenker, SDV, Swiss WorldCargo, UTi and Yusen Air & Sea Service.
