ITC SEEKS COMMENTS FOR STEEL SAFEGUARD PROBE
PROBE
The U.S. International Trade Commission has asked the public to comment by July 2 on draft questionnaires that could be used in a global safeguard investigation involving certain steel products.
The ITC plans to schedule an investigation, which was requested by U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick.
The ITC was asked to determine if certain steel products are being imported in quantities that would cause serious injury or the threat of serious injury to U.S. industries producing similar or directly competitive products.
The questionnaires will be sent to domestic producers, importers, purchasers and non-U.S. producers.
The ITC will post the draft questionnaires in the “Headlines” section of its Web site, http://www.usitc.gov .
Comments must be received by 10 a.m., Monday, July 2.
