JAPAN/NORTH EUROPE CONFERENCE LIFTS WESTBOUND RATES
The Japan Europe Freight Conference, the rate-making agreement in the
Japan/northern Europe trade, will increase freight rates by $150 per TEU, effective April
1, 2000.
The decision by the Japan/northern Europe conference follows a recent
announcement by the Far Eastern Freight Conference that it would also lift westbound rates
from Asia outside Japan to northern Europe, with effect from April.
