Coyne Airways offers Baghdad service
Coyne Airways said it has begun regular twice-weekly freighter flights into Baghdad from Dubai using Ilyushin-76 and AN-12 aircraft.
The London-based air charter company said it eventually hopes to serve Baghdad from other locations. For now, it will move freight to Dubai through interline agreements with other airlines and transfer cargo to its aircraft for the flight to Iraq's capital.
Baghdad Airport is still dangerous for military and civilian traffic, with several planes, including a DHL cargo plane, taking hits from shoulder-fired missiles during the last few months. All the planes have landed without incident.
