Third-party logistics provider Arvato SCM Solutions will provide distribution and value-added services at its new facility in Gennep, the Netherlands.
Germany-based third party logistics provider Arvato SCM Solutions opened a new distribution center in Gennep, the Netherlands, on Tuesday.
The 30,000 square meter facility will process and customize products and fulfill orders for customers in the high-tech, consumer goods and healthcare sectors.
Arvato, a subsidiary of Bertelsmann SE & Co., now operates three warehouses in the Netherlands.
The company said the new location is close to major highways that connect throughout Europe, as well as sea, rail and inland waterway terminals. The Netherlands is an ideal location for multi-channel and e-commerce shipping, officials said.
Arvato plans to be operating at full capacity in Gennep by the third quarter, with annual shipment volume of about 15 million pieces. Added value services offered include bundling, product configuration and returns management.
The bonded warehouse has the capability to be expanded by a further 40,000 square feet if necessary, according to Arvato.
