CSAV VESSELS PHASED INTO NORASIA PACIFIC SERVICE

Chilean shipping group Compania Sud Americana de Vapores has begun phasing in some of its container vessels into the transpacific Pacific Northwest service of recently acquired Norasia Lines.

Four CSAV vessels of approximately 1,700-TEU capacity are replacing former 1,400-TEU ships.

The PNW service rotation remains Vancouver, B.C; Seattle; Yantian; Hong Kong; Keelung; Busan; Vancouver and Seattle.

The Chilean group and Norasia now provide three transpacific services a week: The PNW operation, the China California Shuttle service and the U.S. West Coast/Asia/Mediterranean MEX/TPX service.

Both the China California Shuttle and MEX/TPX services are in conjunction with CMA CGM and Wan Hai Lines.

In a recent ranking of the top 20 container lines, American Shipper magazine reported that the fast-growing Compania Sud Americana de Vapores group is now the world’s 19th largest container shipping company in terms of vessel capacity.
