MOL RE-ENTERS ASIA/MIDEAST TRADE

   MOL is re-entering the Asia-Mideast trade at the end of August, under a slot-charter agreement with Hyundai Merchant Marine.

   The Japanese carrier had pulled out of the trade in 1996. It will now start its service with the departures of the “Hyundai Stride” from Inchon on Aug. 21, the “TMM Guadalajara” from Tokyo on Aug. 22, and the “Houston” from Kobe on Aug. 23.

   The KMS service operated by Hyundai uses six 1,600-TEU ships, calling at Inchon, Kwangyang, Busan, Keelung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Jebel Ali, Port Rashid, Damman, Karachi, Singapore and Hong Kong.
