Boeing sells Kansas, Oklahoma airplane operations for $900 million
Boeing has completed the sale of its commercial airplanes operations in Kansas and Oklahoma to Onex Corp. in a deal valued at approximately $900 million.
The transaction sees Onex taking over Boeing facilities and assets in Wichita, Kan., and Tulsa and McAlester, Okla. Boeing Integrated Defense Systems operations in Wichita and Oklahoma are not included in the sale.
Onex has set up a new company, Mid-Western Aircraft Systems, to handle the new business, and will remain a major supplier partner on the 787 Dreamliner program, Boeing said.
