UPS EXTENDS ONLINE TOOLS? INTERNATIONAL REACH

UPS EXTENDS ONLINE TOOLSÆ INTERNATIONAL REACH

United Parcel Service said Monday it has expanded the international reach of its OnLine Tools. Customers in 37 countries can now download the tools from the Web — in their native language — and those in 34 countries can gain wireless access to tracking information.

OnLine Tools enables companies to integrate UPS shipping functions, such as tracking and rates and service selection into their own Web sites. The service had been available in 46 countries, but only through UPS e-commerce account representatives.

UPS has also been working with Air2Web, using its Mobile Internet Platform, to provide wireless tracking worldwide. Most recently, additions in Asia, including China, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea, have expanded the total number of countries with wireless access to 34. UPS customers can now track packages in their native languages, including traditional and simplified Chinese, Korean and Japanese, as well as English.

UPS OnLine Tools services include allowing customers to track shipments, compare, price and select UPS services, compare speed of different UPS delivery services, and validate customer-entered shipping addresses at the time of order.
