Hoegh Autoliners names new pure car truck carrier
Hoegh Autoliners Wednesday in Hamburg named its fifth pure car truck carrier (PCTC) vessel in the series of nine newbuildings ordered from Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering.
The “Hoegh Berlin” is 200 meters long and has a fully loaded capacity of 6,100 cars. It will be deployed in Hoegh Autoliners’ Mediterranean and Middle East service.
Daewoo will deliver the next vessel in 2006, with two more arriving in 2007, and the last one in 2008.
Hoegh Autoliners is the Oslo-based roll-on/roll-off car-carrying unit of Leif Hoegh & Co.
