New steel facility slated for Port of Tampa

Titan Metal Services, a Clearwater, Fla.-based service company for the steel industry, said it plans to build a 50,000-square-foot steel processing facility at the Port of Tampa beginning in June.

Titan has also agreed to lease five acres from the Tampa Port Authority at the Hooker’s Point terminal, and will invest more than $5 million into that site.

The new plant, which is expected to open by fall, will handle steel sheet coils with 30-ton capacity, 125-foot clear span cranes.
