NEW YORK-NEW JERSEY TERMINALS REFUTE TRUCKERSÆ COMPLAINT TO FMC
Terminals comprising the New York Terminal Conference told the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission that a complaint about delays filed by the Bi-State Motor Carriers Association does not warrant an FMC investigation.
Universal Maritime Service told the FMC that Bi-State hadn’t produced evidence to justify what would “represent an extraordinary, unwarranted and ultimately harmful regulatory intervention into the terminal marketplace.”
Port Newark Container Terminal said congestion and trucker delays aren’t limited to the Port of New York and New Jersey, and that marine terminal operators “have no say whatsoever in what truckers receive by way of rates, wages, or compensation for their services.”
