Tasman Orient ship hits Ho Chi Minh wharf
Rotterdam-based Tasman Orient Line’s vessel “Tasman Endeavour” struck the wharf at Ho Chi Minh port Jan. 1 while berthing.
The vessel was making the call as part of the carriers’ twice-monthly Asia/New Zealand/South Pacific “East Asia” service.
As a result of the accident, the vessel sustained damage to the propeller and requires emergency dry-docking to repair it, Tasman Orient said in a statement. The vessel “Tasman Mariner” will replace the stricken ship and complete the southbound voyage.
