HAMBURG-SUD DROPS TRANSROLL NAME
The German shipping group Hamburg-Sud has stopped using the name of Transroll International.
The northern Europe/East Coast of South America services previously operated under the name Transroll International will now be absorbed by Alianca, another subsidiary of the Hamburg-Sud group.
Hamburg-Sud had taken over Transroll’s Europe/South America container shipping business in July 1999.
The Hamburg-Sud group provides liner shipping services under the trade names Alianca, Crowley American Transport, Columbus Lines, South Seas and Hamburg-Sud.
In a separate development, the Hamburg-Sud group has shortened its legal name to Hamburg-Sudamerikanische Dampfschifffahrts-gesellschaft KG. The former legal name was Hamburg-Sudamerikanische Dampfschifffahrts-gesellschaft Eggert & Amsinck.
