EMERY FORWARDING APPOINTS CALLAHAN VICE PRESIDENT OF OCEAN SERVICES

   Emery Forwarding has promoted Christine Callahan from director to vice president of ocean services.

   Based at Emery’s Redwood City, Calif. headquarters, Callahan will report to Peter Quantrill, executive vice president. She will be responsible for global ocean services, including operational and information technology enhancements, commercial relationships with carriers, and sales and marketing initiatives.

   Callahan began her career in the industry in 1980 with Direct Container Line as an export coordinator and left the company in 1988 as vice president of marketing and sales administration. She joined CNF, the parent company of Emery, in 1989, initially as an international pricing manager, but was promoted to the position of a gateway manager later that year. In 1992, she became the director of ocean operations with Con-Way Transportation Services. In 1995, she moved to Emery Worldwide as director of ocean services.
