EUROPE/INDIAN OCEAN CONFERENCE LOWERS CURRENCY CHARGE
Conference Maritime de l’Ocean Indien, a group of ocean carriers in the trade between Europe and the Indian Ocean islands, said that it will reduce its currency charge because of the strength of the euro against the U.S. dollar.
The currency adjustment factor will be decreased to 218 euros ($205) per TEU southbound, effective Jan. 19, and 125 euros ($118) per TEU northbound, with effect from Jan. 27.
The tariff currency of the conference is the euro.
