MITCHELL CHAIRMAN OF PRINCE RUPERT PORT AUTHORITY
Brian Mitchell has been elected to chairman of the Prince Rupert Port Authority in British Columbia.
Mitchell was formerly president of the Canadian Stevedoring Co. He also served as director and past chairman of the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association and the Waterfront Foremans Employer Association. He is currently director of Logistec Corp., a stevedoring and marine terminal operator on the Canadian and U.S. East Coast.
Prince Rupert’s focus continues to be on diversification. The port has made progress toward completing a sulphur export terminal on Ridley Island and expanded its handling of specialty agricultural shipments. Prince Rupert has also recently introduced containerized cargo handling.
