U.S./India carriers add Indian call at Mundra
United Arab Shipping Co. and Hanjin Shipping are adding calls at the booming port of Mundra, India, to their joint weekly U.S./Mediterranean/Indian subcontinent “MIX” service.
The “MIX” service was extended to call at U.S. ports in November. Compania Sud Americana de Vapores and Norasia Container Lines also takes space on the service. COSCO and “K” Line take slots in the transatlantic section of the service, while Senator Lines takes space between the Mediterranean and Indian subcontinent.
The “MIX” service now uses 11 ships averaging 2,254 TEUs and has a revised port rotation of New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Valencia, Genoa, Gioia Tauro, Jeddah, Khor Fakkan, Karachi, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, Jeddah, Alexandria, Gioia Tauro, La Spezia, Fos, Barcelona, Valencia and back to New York.
