PORTLINK STARTS MED/U.K. SERVICE
Portlink N.V., a short sea shipping line owned by the A.P. Moller group, is starting a service between the Mediterranean and the U.K. on Feb. 14 (Friday).
The “ConMed Beta” weekly service will call at Valencia, Cadiz, Lisbon, Oporto, Le Havre, Hull and Rotterdam. Portlink also plans to add calls at Algeciras later.
The company said that its service will carry Northeast England/Midlands cargoes, bypassing the often congested ports in Southern England and the heavy traffic there.
