Global transport operator AAL opened a new office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which will provide local customers with tramp and project cargo shipping solutions, the company said.
The new office, which AAL refers to as “AAL Middle East,” will draw upon the company’s fleet of seven classes of multipurpose heavy lift vessels, ranging in size from 12,000 deadweight tons to 31,000 dwt.
AAL Middle East will potentially develop regular semi-liner services based on customer demand, according to the company. Both Arabic and English language capabilities will be offered at the new office.
“The Middle East and Gulf market continues to experience significant capital expenditure and development in its infrastructure. It has also seen investment in construction and now growth in nuclear energy – as well as being a major hub for oil and gas projects,” AAL Managing Director, Tramp & Projects Division Namir Khanbabi said in a statement. “In conjunction with the changing geopolitical landscape, there is a real opportunity to work on-the-ground, to deliver competitive transportation solutions for complex and high value cargo in this important region.”
AAL also opened offices in Vancouver, Canada and Seoul, South Korea in September.
Headquartered in Singapore, AAL is a member of Schoeller Holdings, and primarily serves the breakbulk, heavy lift and project cargo industries.
